Payroll Giving unwrapped with Ejaz Rashid

Given how long payroll giving has been in existence, it’s quite surprising that in the UK little is still known and understood about donating this way.

Since the introduction of payroll giving in the UK in 1987, it has become an important source of income for charities, large and small. Payroll giving has become the lifeblood of many charities in the UK and particularly so in the last couple of years where other forms of fundraising in the workplace, such as sports challenges and cake bakes, has seen a decline because of work from home policies.

As a founding partner of the UK Payroll Giving Week (7-13 February), we are committed to telling more people about the benefits of payroll giving and unlocking the barriers companies face.

Our Founder & CEO, Ejaz Rashid, caught up with Mervi Slade and Caroline Gaskin, two of the organisers of the UK Payroll Giving Week to unwrap payroll giving and why it’s so important for charities, employees and employers.

To find out more, including  -  why is payroll giving the preferred way to make donations, what's the most surprising thing about payroll giving, how easy is it to set up a payroll giving scheme, what participation rates are there and how are charities benefiting from the income payroll giving brings - take a look at the video.
